Dr. Ray Nunnery

Dr. Ray Nunnery has practiced in Walnut Creek since 1989 and has loved being part of this community while caring for patients of all ages. Many of his patients have been with him for decades, from toddlers to great grandparents in the same families.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1988 from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he also completed a Bachelor of Dental Science. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University in 1984. Over the years he has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education across cosmetic dentistry, preventive dentistry, periodontics, children’s dentistry, crowns and bridges, whitening, veneers, and implant restoration.

Dr. Nunnery is certified in the restoration of multiple implant systems and enjoys helping patients reach and keep optimal oral health. He has been a member of the Contra Costa Dental Society, the California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association since dental school. He has served on the Diablo Valley College School of Dental Assisting Advisory Board and is a member of the Roundhill Implant Study Group.

He has donated his time and skills to the Sealants and Smiles program, providing screenings and preventive services for elementary students in underserved schools, and his office takes part in the Just One program, which provides dental care for children in need throughout Contra Costa County.

Dr. Nunnery grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and fell in love with the West Coast on a vacation as a teenager. He is married and has two children. Outside the office he enjoys running, cycling, tennis, travel, and time with family and friends.
